Dear E-LASS member,
The autumn is here, which means that we are already planning for our next E-LASS event. Together with our German counterpart MariLight, and of course the RAMSSES consortium, we are planning for a great 11th E-LASS event, with stimulating seminars and an exciting tour in German industries. We are anticipating many participants and look forward to increase the E-LASS cooperation with MariLight, as well as with further national networks in the future. Make sure to save the dates 29-30 January 2020 for the 11th E-LASS event, taking place in Bremen, Germany!
We still have openings for speakers on lightweight topics related to the maritime industry. If you are interested to hold an oral presentation in Bremen, please contact Alexander Hertzberg. Your presentation should be neither too commercial nor too scientific.
Despite the fact that MariLight will very generously cover the costs of the venue, we would much appreciate sponsors to cover e.g. nourishments or industry tour transportation. Primarily, we need to find sponsors for a joint dinner to take place on Wednesday the 29 Jan. If you are interested in sponsoring the event in any way or if you are interested to promote your company e.g. at a table in the break lounge, please contact Alexander Hertzberg. We will make sure to highlight all sponsors appropriately both before and during the event.
On another subject, we would like to highlight a possible project idea regarding bio-composites. If you are interested to know more, please contact Andreas Bach. If you have inquiries, JIP subjects, or news of interest to the network, please contact Franz Evegren.
Lastly, we regret to inform you of the passing of our dear friend Tord Gustafsson. Tord was a fundamental part of our community, contributing at each event with humor and passion as well as a high level of competence. He will be sorely missed by us all and we extend our condolences to his loved ones.
